Doorie Hui Poorie!

Finally yes finally the linger (wait) is over. “Doorie”, The new Music Sensation Atif Aslam’s Second Music Album and First Music Album for INDIA have been released on 22nd December on the eve of HOLY FRIDAY. It was pretty expected on my part. Let me tell you that I have been waiting like a foolish for this record from a very very very long time. It feels great to have such a grand album on the very first day of its release and that too absolutely free of cost. Courtesy High speed and large bandwidth BROADBAND, BIT TORRENT PROTOCOL and yes ALL HATS OFF TO DESI TORRENTS

For all those who don’t know who ATIF ASLAM is, here is the brief introduction:

Atif Aslam (Urdu: عاطف اسلم) is a Pakistani musician. He was born in Waziristan on March 12th, 1983 and was educated in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Let me tell you he is the same guy who has sung songs like:

  1. “Woh Lamhey, Woh Bheegi Bheegi Raatien” for the movie ZEHER.
  2. “Juda hoke bhi” for the movie KALYUG.
  3. The title track of the movie BAS EK PAL.
  4. “Tere Bin” for the same movie BAS EK PAL.
  5. He then rocked us with his first ever debut album JAL-PARI which was first released in Pakistan

Before I proceed ahead with the REVIEW, read here to know what WIKIPEDIA has, to say about ATIF ASLAM.

Coming to the ALBUM, OMG (Oh My God) all songs are just delighful. You can hear the entire album endless times. You can go on and on with the tracks but won’t get bored. Take my word.

To be very precise the title track “Doorie Sahie jaye na” is just awesome.

On the same lines “Hum kis gali ja rahe is again” is a breath taking number.

Songs like “Oh re piya” and “Ehsaas” will make you dance on their tunes.

There are quite a good number of Punjabi tracks. They are just amazing.

Believe me all songs are just are simply and simply mind blowing, astounding, awe-inspiring, humbling and what not.

I am felling short of adjectives.

The good thing about the tracks is that they are small in duration, melodious, clear, meaningful, simple, hummable and yet so romantic.

Mind you the music is a kind of music you hear from the local bands which you see playing on streets and colleges.

Yet it’s is so trendy and pioneering that it doesn’t lets u down at any stage what so ever. The tracks and the music will keep you in their grip right from the word go.

Its Music is really a treat to hear.

Slight Euroish and English touch has made the music just perfect for the festive mood

There are some 18 tracks in all including all the remixes. It’s again an added attraction.

Last Word: Album is simply and truly SUPERB. I am loving it!

One more request: Piracy and Pornography are two dark & ugly shades of the beautiful and gorgeous INTERNET. Please don’t download the songs illegally. THEY ARE NOT FREE COZ THEY ARE NOT LINUX. Rather visit your near by retail music shop and buy a brand new album and help us in stopping and eradicating PIRACY.

Thank you & God Bless U!

Salaam to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy

For all those who don’t know let me tell you that Salaam-e-Ishq is from the director of KAL HO NA HO…..Mr. Nikhil Advani….and from the Producers of TERE NAMM

But this time he (NIKHIL) has decided to make a complete off beat movie……A HIGHLY MULTISTARER FILM…..

I Hope his experimentation works……

Anyways Music of Salaam-e-Ishq has been composed by SEL….confused???....

Are yaaron apne Shankar-Ehsan-Loy…..

Lyrics has been written by Sameer ….( I don’t like Sameer at all)

Well music is good but lyrics are okay-okay…..

Punjabi touch can be easily felt…

Songs like “Dil Kya Kare” & “Salaam-e-Ishq” are really good…

Remix of old song “Babuji Dhere chalna” also sounds fresh…

The fact that Music has been beautifully programmed doesn’t reflect the destitution (poorness) of words used in the songs….

But you must be pondering; What Programming has to do with Music?

In the group SEL i.e. Shankar-Ehsan-Loy…..Ehsaan vibes the strings of GUITAR

Where as LOY plays Keyboard….

Ever wondered what Shankar does?

He programs the music……Yes shocked even I was traumatized…..

Whats more stunning is the fact that he uses Apple Computers to do so….highly exquisite ….isn’t it?

Actually all three of them work on Programming but major portion is handled by Shankar….

Wanna proof of this, see the Lyrics pic (second one) which I have sent along with this email…..

If you still don’t believe it…….watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=74CF2165DA6809DD

It shows the complete making of the music of Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna in the labs of SEL along with the entire KANK team…

What’s worth seeing is, the Apple Products scattered here and there in the labs of SEL

Miraculous…..Mind you they are indeed very lucky Chaps……

Thats why I say Apple phir hai Apple.....and it will continue to rule both Hollywood & Bollywood..
Mera number kab ayega…..When would I get my Apple?

Guru! Guru! - Ho Jaa Shuru!

Huuh……Exams are finally over……….Feels like paradise……..

And I am back in Business…….with New Dreams, New Resolutions & New Emails…..

I will start off with music review of GURU…

I had very high expectations from this album…..Coz of four reasons……….

First one being: The melody of Guru has been composed by A.R.Rehman and I am a Die Hard fan of A.R.Rehman.

Second: It’s Madras Talkies Production. Yeah! You guessed it right it’s a MANI RATNAM FILM, who made movies like Roja, Bombay, Yuwa and the list goes on and on.

Third Reason: The Poems of Guru have been written by Prodigy Gulzar sahab…..

Fourth: The Trio is working together after a very long span of time……..

To be very honest the music of the movie GURU is really good…….

It’s trendy and hummable……..

But like all Gulzar movies the lyrics is admirable also music does support the lyrics but you don’t understand the lyrics in one go…

Either you need a headphones or Lyrics chart (see the second photo) to have complete grasp of the Lyrics…..

Tamil Touch can be easily felt in the music….

Album really has some good numbers like:

  1. Barso Re.
  2. Aye Hairathe
  3. Tere Bina
  4. Baazi laga

How ever the song “Muft lo” sung by Bappi Lahri is a hopeless song…..

But pick of the entire album is the song “Jaage Hain”.

It’s a poem narrated in the form of song and sung by A.R.Rehman…..It’s highly stupendous……..You can in fact feel the pain behind the words….

Final Verdict: Music is good, Lyrics is complex but still Tamil people and A.R.Rehman fans would love it…
